Kelly's Bio

“Mommy, when I grow up I want to be a Princess. Where do I go to be one? Do I go to Mickey Land?”

These were the questions Kelly’s almost four year old daughter, Kendall, asked her one day. The Lord used these very questions to spark a passion in Kelly’s heart for little girls and women of all ages. She felt that it is important that they know that as daughters of the King (2 Corinthians 6:18 ), they are God’s Princesses. Her heart’s cry is for women to accept their royal positions so they can live out their purposes God planned for their lives from the beginning of creation.

The Lord has provided opportunities for Kelly to speak to girls as young as fifth grade and to women of all ages about their true identity in Christ. From this passion, she has written her first children’s book for girls ages four to eight about being a Princess for God’s purpose.

Kelly Chapman

At the age of fourteen, Kelly accepted Jesus as her Savior. What she failed to realize was that He also needed to be Lord of her life. So instead of looking to Jesus for His approval and acceptance, she looked to other people. By the age of sixteen, Kelly developed an eating disorder called Bulimia. She struggled with this disorder for seven years until, by the grace of God, He delivered her from this disease. It was at this point, Kelly realized she was in desperate need for Jesus to be Lord of her life as well as her Savior. Kelly’s experience with Bulimia and her searching for others’ approval is what fuels her passion for girls and women to know who they are in Christ.

In 1994, an associate pastor at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas asked Kelly to teach a Married I Sunday School Class. She responded, “I don’t know enough about the Bible.” He replied, “Good, you won’t rely on what you know.” Ten years later, Kelly has continued teaching adult classes relying on the Lord’s ability and strength. She currently co-teaches one of the largest married Sunday School Classes at Second Baptist Church.

Kelly graduated from Texas A&M University in 1989 with a journalism degree. There she met and married her college sweetheart, Brit. They have been married for fifteen years and after six years of infertility the Lord blessed them with two children. Kendall, their daughter, is eight and Luke, their son, is six. Kelly resides in Houston, Texas where she enjoys playing and baking cookies with her children, running, and reading.
